Kaosarn Brixton & Kaosarn Clapham

BYO, Casual, Cheap Eats, London Restaurant

Cheating. 2 restaurants in 1 review. Favourite Thai restaurants in London. Both BYO. Gisele –  the owner, will show you Jay Rayner’s review from 3 years ago. Every one of his words deserves an ‘amen!’. Food is delicious. Battered sea bass every time.  Clapham if you want a nice looking restaurant. Brixton if you love knocking knees with strangers. Cash only & no damage done.

Korean fried chicken. Sweet spicy and soy garlic

Korean fried chicken. Sweet and sticky goodness. That is all friend. Babs are bigger than but on par with Broadway Market’s famous Yum Buns (fave) and almost as heavenly. Bimbimbab is good & healthy. I drink the plum wine like it’s water. Get there early as it’s tiny. Unless being seen hanging around looking bored and hungry in Shoreditch is your thing.

Raw beef, smoked beetroot, turnip, horseradish & sorrel

Menu appears to be utterly underwhelming and desserts at £10 a pop? I almost choked on my tap water. But my god those dishes are beautifully executed & damn tasty too. The haute couture of 2014 food. All cooked & prepped in an open kitchen. I’m still squealing over the beef carpaccio and lavender crème brûlée . I’ll give you a fiver if it doesn’t get a star.
